Detail of screenprint

Paula specialises in mixed media printmaking, using mainly screenprint, digital print and collograph. Her prints fuse diverse printmaking processes including both digital and traditional processes. Her work plays with the medium of print in an innovative manner and attempts to push the possibilities of print past the two-dimensional framed paper piece. Paula experiments with print through varied mediums, processes and three dimensional forms.

Paula creates concept-based pieces in many media:

I explore ideas of universal origins and personal history as subject matter for visual and theoretical investigation. Recently my work has concentrated on the physical embodiment of individual experience, memory and emotions. Presently, I am making work that concerns similarities and links within the natural world. The outcome explores the ephemeral existence and regenerative qualities of our natural world.

Paula is a qualified art educator. She teaches art to wide range of levels including third level, community outreach, primary level, second level, and PLC. She takes great pleasure in teaching through conceptual projects and practical processes which aim to contextualize art and design in the world around us.
